I just bought a new house and want to wire it for media and internet service.. Now here's the thing, I plan on installing cat5 cables throughout the house in each room with wall plate connections but that's not the question.. My question is, how can I get internet access and the NAS server to go through the same cable? Meaning I want one cable to connect to the server and also have internet connection. I want to be able to access my movies in the server and at the same time if i choose be able to access internet contents from hulu, netflix, youtube, and amazon. What components do i need? I also want the has server to be wireless so it can be accessed by my laptops and tablets. Maybe a diagram will help me out here. I don't have much experience with networking but very capable of following directions and studying.

A simple switch or router can do the work, each cable from rooms, NAS, Internet modem/router end up in the switch....
a (internet) router usually had limited port so u can using switch before the router to increase the port number (number of connection/lines)...

I will try to make some diagram tomorow....

that just a general idea..
since I'm not familiar with hulu/netflix, or the internet connection u will using (telp lines / power lines / wireless reciver /etc.. )
