Hi guys.
I have a bootable win xp sp2 CD.
I copied it to a dvd.
Now that CD is bad, I tried to boot from DVD but it didn't work.
I have 2 questions.

1- To copy my bootable CD to another CD, do I just have to copy its files and burn them or do I have to use that "bootable disk option" all burners have?

2- I copied to a DVD but it didn't work so I guess when copying a bootable CD to a DVD I have to use that "bootable disk option" all burners have, right?

If I don't have to use "bootable disk option", why DVD didn't work?
Files are the same, recording media is what changed(CD to DVD).
English is not my native language so I hope I was clear enough.
Thanks.

it depends on how u copied it and what program you used. only way i know of to do it is to burn it to an ISO image then burn it to dvd with alcohol 120. If you just simply copied all the files over, no it will not work, it contains a boot sector... do you really think microsoft would make it that easy...

there are many programs that can create boot sectors but also other things you must do

http://www.howtohaven.com/system/createwindowssetupdisk.shtml

have a look there....

next time burn it to an ISO its a million times easier
