Built new PC - no video output, no speaker sounds

Good day, everyone!

I just build my new PC, with these parts:

ASRock z77 pro3
I5 3470
Kingston 2x4GB Ram
Asus HD5750

I made everything very carefully and as the manual says.
The only thing I'm not sure about, is the cpu power connector. There is an 8-pin header on the motherboard, but my psu only has a 4-pin connector.
I've read several posts on the internet, that it should be enough, to connect only those 4 pins, as long as you don't need a very power hungry cpu, or an overclocked cpu.
So, I connected it on the right 4 pins (it fits that way).

And when I tried to boot the system, all the coolers are spinning, but there is no speaker sound and no video output. I tried both, the gpu hdmi and the integrated graphics.

So, what am I doing wrong? Could you please help me with some advice?

Thanks in advance!

You can still use only a 4 pin connector but you wouldn't get much use from the PC and it would fry (or disable certain features like your video card if the model is later than 2003) the moment you try to use more resources than are provided.

A PSU with only the 4 pin connector would only be about 250 watts, not enough power for your hardware, and is better suited to a Pentium 3 motherboard. If your motherboard was an i3, and you used onboard video out and only 2gb of ram then the PSU might have been adequate.

Acquire the Corsair CX600 v2 PSU, that will provide the proper cabling and good power resources.
