My rig -
3770k @ 4.5ghz,
32GB RAM @ 1866
2X Gigabyte GTX 670 2GB in SLI @1250mhz PCIE 2.0 X16
Resolution: 2560x1440
(full specs in sig)

Running Tomb Raider maxed everything including TressFX and FXAA and everything runs perfect in-game. Stepping up to 2xSSAA absolutely kills performance - the benchmark becomes a slide show with an average of 25-30FPS and minimum of 10-15FPS which is unplayable. Sticking with FXAA I get an average of 60FPS in the benchmark.

What is the problem here? Is it a memory bandwidth issue or something to do with SLI performance and SSAA? Has anyone had any luck forcing a different AA solution through Nvidia Inspector like MSAA? Anybody have a similar setup and having difficulty with SSAA?

Away from my desktop currently so can't really do much tweaking/testing but just wondering if my performance is usual or if there is something wrong with my settings...

Even with FXAA, some of the cutscenes stutter a bit but in game, everything runs super smooth. I'd prefer to not have the blur of FXAA but don't want to give up AA altogether... Also, I like TressFX so I'd really like to keep it on... Any Suggestions?

I am currently using 314.22 WHQL drivers - the newest available (there is no beta driver newer). It looks like I am running version 1.01.730 on Tomb Raider. Not sure if that is latest but I'll double check.

Just an updated, I used Precision X and identified the issue. Both cards are throttling because the fans on the cooler of the new 670 are not working at all. I played Tomb Raider for a couple hours yesterday and when I popped out of the game, the new card was 90 degrees celsius and both were underclocked to around 750 mhz. The old card sits around 55 degres during gaming and 30 degrees at idle. I'm in the process of returning the 670 now.
