Looking for a game to play on my laptop..
It can play games released before 2006ish. I prefer RPGs, but it's not required. I have played Vampire bloodlines, Deus ex, Fable and San Andreas on my laptop already.
I like character customization and a good storyline and side quests, though it's not required.

If you'll be playing online (even if solo), the original Guild Wars is still an enjoyable game. The stories are good, there is some degree of customizing, and a decent number of side quests (especially in the second and third installments). There are a lot of ways to mix up skills. I still play it a lot to relax.

Another one you can try is Sacred 2, although the game does have a few bugs and may need to be tweaked a little for compatibility. If you're running XP, you could play the original Sacred as well (which is not compatible with Vista / Windows 7). The only downside to these is a lot less character customization. There are LOTS of side quests.

sacred two is now on steam (been waiting for that for a while) jsut got it a few weeks ago, its like diablo... mixed with skyrim... and yes, it is one of the more glichy games out there, but you can sink days worth of gaming into it... (last count, over 5 days worth on the xbox version and already 2+ on the steam version)

Planescape torment is pretty good. As well as gothic series its like a lower version of the elder scrolls games. There is also many games on aeria as well if you check out steam you can find some decent games there as well including most of the games already recommended. Many others often suggest neverwinter nights. If sega ever releases it phantasy star online 2 has insane customization's. And there are countless free to play mmo's out there that work on almost any system.
