Hello,

I'm trying to find any info about the maximum amount of disks to use in raid on motherboard ASRock FM2A85X Extreme4-M, but still got nothing. This mb has 7 SATA ports, and I have 5 disks I want to combine in RAID 5 array. BIOS recognizes all plugged disks. Unfortunately, the onboard Option ROM Utility can see only first 4 ports and cannot create array with 5 disks.
Is maximum amount of disks really limited by 4, or I'm just doing something wrong?

More about : raid a85x

Crazer I have the Extreme 6 board and there is a setting you need to change that is right below the raid setup. I believe it says either SATA/IDE mix or RAID/IDE Mix. You need to change it so that is off. I ran into this same problem it only activates the first 4 sata ports for raid. Once you disable the mix mode all sata ports work on the raid.
