I have herd this term before and I kinda know what it is. I was thinking of getting the GTX 650TI boost 2gb graphics card but I wanted to make sure that I would not be bottlenecking. I have a AMD HD985ZXAGHBOX Phenom Quad-Core 9850 2.5GHz 125W L2-2MB L3-2MB Socket AM2+ CPU - Black Edition. Do you think this cpu is good enough so my pc wont bottleneck?

according to toms cpu hirearchy chart...
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-cpu-review-o...
your processor is 6 levels below the top tier.....so my guess is that the 650 'may' be bottlenecked, but i think
worth the try --- any pc can be bottlenecked by it's slowest component in a given situation.
give it a shot - depending on what graphics you now have it'll most likely be an improvement

Bottlenecking is not an outright yes or no. IF you run games that are more CPU intensive, then yes you will lose performance. That does not necessarily mean its a bottleneck, that just mean that your CPU is not good enough. Bottlenecking is a VERY overused term.

What games do you play? Or are trying to play? And at what resolution.

I mainly play bf3 on 1080p on high as of now with now issues. I was just wanting to upgrade my graphics card even more to maybe hit that ultra setting lol. I can play on ultra but the fps drop pretty good not really smooth gameplay.

If the drops are on large multiplayer maps, then its your CPU doing that. I am asuming you are playing on low resolution? 1366?

No I play on 1080p resolution on high with no problems good frames. Just was wanting to upgrade to try and get ultra settings and also to upgrade for future games coming out.
