Introduction
Hello Everyone, I'm currently seeking out a new gaming rig. I have never owned a gaming computer, or really a desktop computer for that matter. I've always been a laptop person, and I have NO idea why. It's not like I carry my pc out of the house/ move it from my desk ever. So I've been using a Late '11 MBP for about 10 months now (bought in late May 2012). I upgraded with 16gb (2 x 8gb) ram, 750gb momentus xt hybrid drive in hdd bay, and my stock toshiba hdd in the optical drive bay. It is running on an i7 2.8ghz dual core processor, which can't hold it's own for gaming worth diddly-squat.

Reason for Upgrade (respectively important from high>low) -
1.) Gaming. I want to play games like Crysis 3, BF3, Counter-strike go, garry's mod, left 4 dead 2, all of those games on max settings. I just threw out some titles that looked interesting/games I've played and lagged my arse off. They all look like great games, and since I am just getting back into gaming, I'd love to play them. So many great titles have come out and I've missed because of some shoddy laptop, or my ignorance to believe that desktop computers are better than laptops.

2.) Run multiple Runescape bots at once (high CPU usage). Yes I know some people will flame because of this (I honestly hope not), but I do in fact play/bot Runescape. I think it is quite enjoyable to watch a bot play on 4 different accounts on once earning you levels whilst you sleep/eat/use toiletries(tehe). My macbook pro can only handle about 4 (MAX). The whole entire comptuer will become very sloowwww and laggy, disabling it from doing anything else. I'd like to run atleast 6-8, hopefully 10 on my new computer, and atleast be able to input something into one of them instead of having my computer crash when I touch it.

3.) Light photoshopping/video editing. All sizes of files. Whenever new call of duty comes out this year, will most likely do some video editing/things of that nature for the season. Video edit some clips of game film. Always had a love for photoshopping/ FX. Probably will get into that and learn much more than I do now about it.

4.) Light web browsing/ Movies. I would love to be able to multi task on my new computer. Currently I can do it (somewhat?), but say if I were watching netflix, I wouldn't be able to play, say for example, an online pool match on my external display because of lag issues.

Approximate Purchase Date: e.g.: This week (hopefully), possibly next week/ early April 2013.

Budget Range: Budget $800-1500(MAX) After shipping/rebates. I would really, really like it to be under 1500 dollars easily. If I am unable to get that raw computing power with only 1500 dollars, and few 100 more would make it 150% better than I could stretch, but I'd really like to get the best performance/dollar ratio. Remember I'm coming from a mbp with not-so-good specs, I REALLY, REALLY want that huge raw computing power boost.

System Usage from Most to Least Important: See top -(if tl;dr)- 1.) HUGE GAMING IMPROVEMNT - WANT TO PLAY NEW GAMES 2.) Endure high cpu tasks, (Runescape botting, etc. 3.) Photoshop/video edit. 4.) Light web browsing/movies/great multitasking.

Are you buying a monitor: Yes. Current one is too old/ shoddy resolution to play any good games with decent graphics on.

Parts to Upgrade: Everything

Do you need to buy OS: Yes.

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Anything will work. I live in Houston, Texas. I can get parts from pretty much every website out there shipping US/ based in US. I can pick up parts at Micro Center. The i7-3770k is only $230 over there, a $40 bump from the i5-3570k priced at $190. (Pickup Only).

Location: Houston, Texas. US

Parts Preferences: Would really love an intel CPU. Would like an above average graphics card that can easily max out most games.

Overclocking: Maybe. Not really sure how to do it.

SLI or Crossfire: Maybe. Not really sure how to do it, or what to do with it.

Your Monitor Resolution: I want to get a great monitor with great resolution. My current monitor is wayyy too old to play ANY types of games on it. The monitor/os will be included in the budget, so the best bang for buck whilst maintaing quality/performance.

Additional Comments: Like to have a quiet PC, easy installation. Will be trying to play most of the current games, Crysis 3, BF3, counter strike go, and a bunch of others. ( Lots of steam games ). The OS and the monitor will be included in budget, along with components/parts.)
And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: Want to play ALL THE NEW GAMES I'VE MISSED OUT ON.

Have parts in mind, but unsure of whether or not they are good for my build.

The parts/components, OS, Monitor, AND peripherals will be added into the budget please. I need a mouse/keyboard, and a mouse pad.

THANK YOU AHEAD OF TIME FOR ANY SUGGESTIONS/HELPFUL FEEDBACK.

Seems like a great build. Was there any specific reasoning in choosing the Gigabyte Radeon 7970 card over the, for say, Vapor X Sapphire Radeon 7970 GHz edition, instead of price?

And what do you think about the GTX 670 EVGA FTW edition graphics card?

No I have no problems maxing out most games.

@rokkman. The GTX 680 is on par with the 7970. In fact almost every site acknowledges the 7970 is the single most powerful gpu in for less than $1000. Its only bettered by the GTX 690 / GTX Titan or the Radeon 7990, which are all $1000 cards.
