Could streaming movies from my PC onto my TV be taxing my graphics card at all? I noticed my temps went from 30 degrees to 40 degrees when I went from my 23'' monitor to my 42'' television. I have a gtx 670 and i5, thanks.

If your streaming videos use hardware acceleration, it would increase temps, but 40C is nothing to worry about. And a larger monitor or TV has zero affect on how your video card operates. If the resolution changes, that can have an effect, but not size. Running 2 displays can also increase temps at idle.

The only thing that should matter to your GPU is the resolution.
What was the resolution of the 23" and the resolution of the 42"?

I know it isn't "taxing" I just wanted to know if it really takes anything more out of the graphics card to go to a bigger screen.. and the resolution went down to 1280 x 960 on the 42'' and i'm back to 1920 x 1080.. maybe my room is just getting too hot
