So Im planing on overclocking soon and am getting my system set up I have ordered a h80i for the cpu.
My motherboard is the ASUS M5a99x evo R2.0. I have 16gigs of Kingston hyperx 1333.
In the bios it only shows 8 gigs, but " my computer" and cpuz both show 16 gigs.
So
1) does that affect me at all

2) does this motherboard support faster ramm, How fast and how much should I get.
I only use this comp for gaming (no video editing..etc) and want to push my my cpu as far and as fast as will be stable.

system specs are:
Corsair 1050w psu
16 gig kingston hyperx ddr3 1333
ASUS M5A99x evo R2.0 motherboard
AMD 8350 black edition
2 EVGA GTX 680 SC SLI'd
5 case fans 3 intake 2 exhaust.

Thanks for help and advice

Check your bios setting to see if it registers both/all four ram sticks.
If not, try re-inserting the sticks and running memtest to make sure that everything is solid.

Your bios only showing 8gigs is concerning if 16gigs are inserted and that's what your OS reads.

Thanks for replying, I just went into "my Computer" and then system properties and this is what it says: 16.0 GB (7.93 usable)
I know this motherboard supports up to 32 GB so I dont understand

ASUS website says 2133 MHz is the max supported in the mobo diagram, but the supported memory list shows a few 2400 MHz kits.

And have you tried installing the latest BIOS?

Fixed the problem, I guess one of the dual channel sticks was in wrong...it shows 16 gigs in bios and cpuz now.
Next question since I have Kingston hyperx 1333 (4x2x2) would may gaming actually benefit from better/faster ram or would it just be a waste of money?
