I have mini port on my EVGA Z77 board and want to utilize the Intel HD 4000 on my I7 chip.

If I get a DVI to mini port connector, will the board recognize it as my graphics hookup?

I assume you have an added graphics card? Some BIOS/boards allow them both to be active while others disable the onboard video once you install the other graphics card. It is dependent on your board and BIOS used.

This will be for my back-up box and I don't want to buy a video card and just use the Intel on board video.
