I just installed a Samsung SSD. It shows up in BIOS and I installed the Magician software it came with, but Windows doesn't recognize it. In Computer, it does not appear under Hard Disk Drives. Is there some step I missed, or could it be a problem with the SSD?

Yes it appears in disk management, but not My Computer. It said "Not initialized". I formatted it and now it says "Online", however it still does not appear in My Computer.

Edit: It is now working fine

I had the same issue. Even though disk management said it was online, it wasn't. I used Paragon disk manager to bring the drive really online. Everything was fine after that.
