Well today all my parts arrived and I began my first PC build. After connecting cables and installing my components. I decided to press the power button and give it a try. All the case fans, cpu fan, and gpu fan were running, but when I turned my screen on, the bios weren't showing up. I restarted the PC and yet the bios didn't show up. I'm not sure if I installed the CPU wrong or it's because my motherboard bios havent updated for ivy bridge processors. My PC specs are:

CPU: i5-3470
GPU. Radeon 7770 Vapor-x
MOBO: Asrock h61m-dgs

Please reply ASAP. Thanks, I appreciate everyones answer
But I'm positive that I installed my CPU right because I went over it three times.

If you dont get a signal from the gpu or the mb igp it could be a bios update or a dead mb. Hopefully its just the update. Good Luck.

And how exactly do I update the bios? I heard people say that you need an ivy bridge to flash the bios or something like that. Also, how do I know if the mobo is the dead?

Well there is a problem there. You need a Sandy Bridge cpu to flash the bios to Ivy Bridge. I dont think there is any other way. Best bet is to see if you can return the mb or see if one of your friends with a sb cpu will help you out.

Well I guess I will have to return the MOBO, in this case, which is the cheapest MOBO that supports ivy bridge?

Well I'm really afraid of removing the processor again because to be honest, it was a very difficult process for me. Any tips to remove the processor?

Thanks, I just bought a new MOBO. Let see if it works, I checked if it supported the i5-3470. Apparently, it does.
