Hey guys after the 17 mins of gameplay and some research on the the web i found out that i needed a high end pc to play bf4! but i just wanted to ask you guys if i would still run bf4 (even at lowest settings).

MY SPECS:

RAM: 8gb
GRAPHICS CARD: Radeon HD 7770
CPU: FX-6100 6 core
SSD: 128gb ocz vector
MOTHERBOARD: M5A78L-M/USB3

Thanks for your help.

Did you miss the part where we said that no one can tell you "yes" or "no"?
The game is not out yet, there are no demos available, not even close to release date yet.

Do you play BF3?
If yes, what settings do you use for smooth gameplay?

Battlefield 4 is being ran by a new Frostbite Engine, Frostbite 4.

I am pretty sure you can run it on the lowest setting possible.

yes you will be able to play it because its the frostbite 3 engine not frostbite 4. all they have done is optimized the code of the frostbite 2 and enabled more high end features that were already available on the frostbite 2 engine but were considered to have to much of an overhead on the gfx but still there dx11 features.
some cards wont be able to handle bf4 with the high filters but any 1 with a gaming grade gpu (8800gt or better) should be able to play at low settings and get 30 minimum fps.
if your gfx doesnt have at least 96 cuda cores or 148 amd shaders then your unlikely to be able to play it smoothly, but if your over that you will with probably/hopefully very few issues.

I would venture a guess that to completely max this game and get a playable framerate (constantly above 30 fps) at 1080p, you will need something along the line of a single GTX 680. For super high levels of MSAA (like 8x) you might even need a Titan or some type of SLI configuration.

I'm guessing that it will be similarly taxing to Crysis 3, probably on par can't really imagine it being MORE taxing though. At this point in time nothing short of Titans in 3-way SLI can really comfortably max crysis 3 at very high settings with the highest AA available.

Honestly, If I was not told that 17 minute game play trailer was BF4 I would have instantly thought it was just a bf3 dlc.

I know BF4 is not out yet, so obviously I cant really give you an answer.

But in my opinion. You should be able to run it, on medium to high settings.
Don't listen to the guys telling you that you will only be able to run it at low or even if that.

I remember these guys saying the exact same thing about bf3. It actually turned out that bf3 was very well optimized for the PC.
I honestly don't see why this would not be the case for bf4. Simply put if you can run bf3 on your computer now, expect to run bf4 at pretty much the same settings that you are running at right now. We have to remember this game will also run on the Xbox 360 and the Playstatio n 3.

Also another thing I would like to point out, Bf4 was also confirmed for the Playstation 4. To my knowledge the ps4 will be using a Radeon HD 7770 or some what of an equivalent gpu. BF4 will run on somewhat medium to high settings on the Playstation 4. Since you have the same gpu, and a semi decent cpu, you should also expect the same results.

Hi there,
I can give you a solution that I feel will satisfy anyone who wants to know what kind of specs to look for to play Battlefield 4 comfortably, without having to really break the bank.

Motherboard: ASRock Z77 Extreme4 Motherboard -
Outstanding value for features, as well as overclocking capability on the Z77 Chipset.
Has SLi Compatibility as well, for the sake of upgrading later down the track if you choose.

CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K -
The main difference with this and i7-3770K is the hyperthreading feature, as well as an extra $100 on the price tag. Hyperthreading is not really being taken advantage of by developers, so this is a great processor at the end of the day, for a great price. NB: You can expect the cost of Z77 and Ivy Bridge processors to go down with the release of Haswell processors coming up.

CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i Liquid Cooling unit -
This is a great solution for overclocking the i5-3570K from 3.2 to 4.5GHz. This cooler has a great reputation in Gaming PC builds, and also is very easy to install. The H100i gives the solution of liquid cooling, without the fuss of a custom loop with tubing, compression fittings, blah blah... All in all, you can't go wrong with this cooler.

RAM: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (4x2G) CL9 @ 1600MHz -
This is a very trusted brand and reliable model of RAM used for gaming, but also very common so you shouldn't have any issues finding these. You should never need to go for anything more than 8GB of RAM, so at it's price, the value to performance has a great reputation.

Graphics Card: Nvidia GTX 660Ti 2GB or AMD Radeon HD 7950 3GB -
660Ti is great in games, capable of running Battlefield 3 at 47fps (ULTRA SETTINGS) at an average (Playable would be about 30fps) so this is very comfortable to play on. The 660Ti has CUDA core technology, which will definitely speed up any type of development or rendering programs you may use - Photoshop, Black Magic, etc.
The 7950 on the other hand, performs slightly less within Battlefield 3, at an average fps of 42 AT ULTRA (keep in mind, the 7950 is CHEAPER). Where it lacks in FPS, it makes up in it's memory bandwith of 3GB, compared to the 2GB 660Ti. This means that the 7950 will be more capable of handling very GPU intensive games, that require a lot of resources to run. This also takes stress off the CPU, reducing the chance of bottlenecking the performance of your PC.
For sheer performance - 660Ti
For price to performance - 7950

With this build, i'd say you'd easily be able to play BF4 at 40-50 FPS on High Settings.

NB: This is only a prediction since the system reqs aren't released yet.

If you have any questions, i'll be happy to help.

have you actually played bf3 on a pc? it has way more high end features enabled than on the playstation. the 7770 may well be very similar in spec to the ps4 so will likely be roughly where minimum settings are. most games that are ported to pc use the console as the base layer for gfx quality then improve upon it. so no the ps4 wont be medium low setting they will be the best settings the ps4 can manage and that will be at a locked 30 fps. so you can expect a 7770 to run at medium or low settings and get 30-60 fps. it doesnt mean that the 7770 will some how get a boost and suddenly enable a massive jump in performance because it just wont.

i dunno who gave you the best answer but its clearly wrong. the reason being as dice have already stated that the frostbite 3 engine was running at around 30% capacity for bf3 (thats 1 third of actual features turned on) bf4 will likely have 50% of the frostbite featureset turned on so will be even more demanding of basic hardware. so no i cant tell you id it will run well on your hardware but past experience of playing all the frostbite games tells me it will run on medium settings at 30 fps and low to maybe get 60 fps.
so op you may not like the answer but its based on real world knowledge of that past engines performance. not a comparison to a piece of hardware that isnt out yet.

idk people I am able to play BF3 on 7770 maxed out(with filter on and shit and I get 35fps or something on ultra settings).
My question is will ps3 handle bf4 as good as bf3, what would be the frame i would normally get?
