Well I changed my motherboard and a cpu to an intel core i5 3570k and windows started and loaded normally except for my graphics. When I started skyrim I could not select my graphics card and it said I had a standard VGA graphics adapter. Catalyst control center cant even recognize my graphics card to check for updates. But I can browse the internet and use programs. My computer also displays my CPU etc. Just having some problems with my graphics card. Another issue I had was when I began to start fraps it said it couldnt detect my directx 9/11 drivers.

I try to use AMD Driver Autodetect but when I run it it says it couldn't detect my OS/Graphics Card.

Ok, where do you have your monitor plugged into, the motherboard or graphics card? Go to device manager and uninstall your current graphics drivers and reboot. Insert your graphics driver cd and reinstall your 7870 graphics drivers. *make sure you are plugged into your graphics card)

Well Im onto my motherboard, but when I plug into my graphics card the screen doesn't pop up. And in my device manager all I have installed is my intel graphics. And when I load the disc it tells me to go to xfxforce.com and get an optimized driver.

What I hate to say is that it sounds like the video card is dead. If it is new, trying returning it as defective. If it is old, it may have been static shocked in the move. Are the fans spinning? if they are, this is usually a sign that the video card is defective when there is no display being output. Also, remove and reinstall all drivers for the video card. Lastly, make sure that the new motherboards pci slot is working properly with another card. Check your video card at the local tech shop to make sure it works. I received two defective 7870's before I got a good one, so I wish you the best of luck.
