Hi people,

I have and ECS HT2000 mobo with athlon x2 CPU, i was thinking of upgrading to phenom i or phenom ii. I dont know if it is upgradeable and whether the CPU watts will be compatible, looking forward to something like Phenom ii x4 975BE. If a bois upgrade is required, please do mention how to get it.

Thanks a lot in advance.

I've had two of those boards. The cpu wattage limit is 89 watts. Those boards are too old; you need to change to a newer board with new windows coa if you have an oem windows installation. I wouldn't even try a newer cpu with it. The old phenom I 9550 might work, but it's relatively slow by quad standards.
