Dell PERC Controllers

It looks like you can use PERC controllers in non-enterprise boards -

The problem with this article is that it is out-of-date. I would like to install a H310 or greater for 3TB support in a socket 1155 system but am wondering if this method can still be applied.

I presume that you want to create a 3TB RAID because 3TB drives are not supported by the H310.

It looks like I would need to use a better controller but I am still interested to hear if you can use H700/H800 in a standard motherboard.

This would go into a simple H61 motherboard. I am attempting to build a cheap RAID6 low-power solution.
