Hi Guys

I am looking for a budget HTPC build, I already have a gaming PC connected to my TV so I am able to stream heavy HD files without no problem.

I am looking for a small budget machine for streaming mostly as my wife watches a lot of YT and simmilars.

Needs:

Wifi on board / wifi card
Small case (preffered black)
Silent, any chance of passive cooling?
Low power consumption.
No high cap HD required.

Hints welcomed :)

Regards

Lukas

pretty much any current processor other than say an atom processor will do all you ask and play hd streams fine, personally i like the intels for htpc's they use next to no power and the i3's will bitstream all of the audio and 3d movies like a champ. yeah they have a weak as piss gpu but as a htpc (home theatre pc) not a htpc/light gaming pc they are perfect. they have access to usb3, sata 3, quicksync. just pick a matx or m itx and the appropriate case and you will be fine. i like the silverstone cases they are a bit more expensive but fit right in with your av receiver and look the part. if you want to go passive cooled are you gonna go the whole 9 yards and get passive psu too?? it can be done but wont be in the same budget but the low tdp intels are perfect for it but i wouldnt want to put it all in too smaller case without atleast some form of airflow from case fans, you would obviously want a high quality high end air cool hsf and just ditch the fan, but to be honest just get something like a cm 212 if you dont have the height restrictions and you should be able to run the fan so low it will be virtually inaudible at a range of 1m in a silent room anyways.generally the smaller you make it the noisier it will get.
