1 Mbps Plan what download speed should I really have

Well we just took off our telephone connection and have a 1 Mbps plan but my download speed is 40Kbps.(minimum) - 90Kbps. (maximum) so are we having what we pay for? :??:

You probably do. Max would be somewhere arround 125 kilobytes.

1Mbit=125KB

But ISP's often tell that you're paying max possible speed and they are not obliged to deliver it due to network capacities.

They should also state lowest guaranted speed but that's something written in so small font that you need telescope to read.

Typically you're getting lower speeds. Theoretically you should get 128KB/s. Since a Mbps = megabit, not megabyte. A megabit is 1/8 of a megabyte which is 1024 kilobytes. So pretty much you're not getting what you pay for which is normal for everyone.

90 KB /s is ok. thats all you can get from isp sayi max of 1Mbps connection. it will vary from 600 kbps to 1.2 Mbps durg the day depending on the load of their serer.
the download speed they will demonstrate from their servers. showig 124 Kb/s
the 30 kb/s you get is the max allowed download speed from some other server limited by file share

for 1 mbps connection I am getting 100kbps max speed..
