Hello,

I am looking to build a computer that will be able to play some of the best games released right now, mostly Battlefield 4. Keep in mind that Battlefield 4 will most likely support Dual Cards. I will be using this computer for 4 years, and I might upgrade it later on. My budget is $500 maximum but I do not hope to exceed $450 unless it is a really good offer. I have heard that crossfire is not supported in all games and does not really work well at times. However, SLI/Crossfire seems to preform better than Single Cards on games that do support it, which is quite convincing as both solutions are similarly priced. Note that more heat and power consumption isn't really a concern to me.

Other parts of my build:
i5 3570k
Mid level z77 motherboard
8gb ram
good enough psu
water cooling
other parts dont really matter

Currently my options are GTX 660 2-way SLI, Radeon HD 7870 2-way Crossfire, GTX 680, Radeon HD 7970. Thanks!

Have a Nice Day.

while not all games support sli/crossfire i find the ones that do frequently need it if you want to play it at maxed setting. i use SLI cause i find it less buggy the crossfire ( i have run both). i think its worth the money but i am a filtering max setting fiend...so keep that in mind

Thats true. Games that dont support SLI are usually the ones that don't need it. Which SLI setup do you use specifically? By the way, thanks for the reply :)

Do you experience lots of bugs and problems frequently?

There will simply be some games where sli will not work but i think sli is better then xfire for sure.I would say for single card get a 7970 and dual cards stick with nvidia.my only issue with these cards are they lose alot of performance if you turn AA to max but if you can settle for normal aa there very good cards. There about 5-7% faster then my gtx 480 sli and about 5% slower then gtx 580's.The advantage of these cards is you get alot of power from a card that only uses 1 6 pin connector which amazes me actually. They also run very cool even in sli i barely see 60 celcius in furmark.
