New Monitor for HD 5670 1 GB DDR5

My system is
Intel E5400 2.7 Ghz stock

4GB Ram
HD 5670 1GB

I have 17 inch CRT Monitor
Gaming on 1152 x 864 resolution medium (Ok for me lol)

Planning for buying 20 inch LCD monitor,

can I play on higher resolutions with this new monitor?

OR

i have to buy a lower screen size LCD..?

you can but your video card may not handle the higher resolution for good FPS....you can always still play at a lower resolution than you monitors native though its is best to play at native resolution in terms of visual fidelity. get 1080p monitor

you can always get a new GPU down the road if need be.

buy a screen that has 1920x1080 namely full HD 1080p such a monitor a 22 inch doesnt cost much these days but enables you to watch hd movies and you can also select lower resolution for gaming if needed.

two options for you:

1)Dell 20inch IN2030m (1600*900res) - rs 6300

2)Dell 21.5inch SS220l (1920*1080res) - rs 8500

in future get powerfull gpu
