Well because 250 watts is just flat out annoying I decided to buy a new power supply (500 watts) but here's my problem I cannot remove the old one because the 24 pin connector is stuck how do I get it out? I've searched online everywhere but I just can't work it out I've tried gently shaking it out of the socket but it still just won't come out! I've also tried fiddling with the single clip on the side of the plug but this also did nothing! Any ideas? Because I'm am completely stuck.

Take your time, have patience and wiggle. Make sure your pressing the retention clip. It can sometimes help to loosen one end first then have a go at the other end. I will come off with a bit of effort.

I've been doing that for about five minutes now still not coming loose...
Also the clip seems to act like a switch you can push it at the top and the bottom.
