My microphone won't work.I need help fast

So, my microphone was working fine. There was a problem on TS 3, cos I couldn't speak so I re-installed my audio device with a CD called: Intel-Intel series II33f Version: 3.3f .

After re-installing I couldn't fix my problem on TS3 , so I just removed TS 3 and moved on. So, after a week I do a skype call and the other person couldn't hear me. I was surprised, because 3 weeks ago it worked fine. I searched skype.com for a guide. I did everything as it said, but still my problem wasn't fixed. I need an answer fast. I use Realtek AC97 Audio and a working microphone. I tried the microphone at my neighbours house and it worked, so it's got to be a software mistake. Please only give guides for Windows XP.

  1. Right click on the volume icon in the task bar and goto recording devices. Do you see your microphone? Is it set as the standard device? If yes, right click on the volume icon again and goto mixer. The mic may be muted.
  2. first you should check whether your microphone is connected to the correct port and after that you check the volume controller and teh real tech media software

I don't see any microphone. Just: Volume Control, Wave, SW Synth, CD Player and Line In.

I checked really carefully. Everything is where it should be. Well, I don't see Microphone Tab on Volume Control
