Hi, I am planning to buy my first desktop for decent gaming, watching HD movies and occasional video editing. I have zeroed in on my CPU configuration. As i am new to this i wish to get it validated.
My PC configuration,
1. Intel 3.3 GHz LGA 1155 Core i3 2120 Processor
2. Gigabyte GA-B75M-D3H Motherboard
3. Corsair Vengeance DDR3 4 GB (1 x 4 GB) PC RAM
4. Seagate Barracuda 1 TB Desktop Internal Hard Drive
5. PowerColor AMD/ATI Radeon HD5570 1 GB DDR3 Graphics Card
6. Seasonic SS400BT PSU
7. Samsung SH-224BB DVD Burner Internal Optical Drive

Kindly help me with this configuration. I want to know whether i am unwantedly wasting money somewhere.

This might have been a killer build about 3 years ago but now it is fine for a HTPC but not for decent gaming. What is your budget and what kind of game titles are you looking at?

go i7 quad core, DDR5 for GPU, and at least 8GB RAM ddr3 1600 or above, Solid Stat Drive, and 600+ PSU

I agree with jnkweaver - this build isn't strong enough for most games. I would recommend an AMD FX 6300 or FX 4300 in place of that i3 with a high rated AM3+ motherboard, a 550w PSU, and a 7770 in place of that 5570, and 8 GB of DDR3 1333 to be set.

Also i am not particular about any specific games. As far as now usually been going with the ones which performs well at my laptop. Hope to remain like tat with the pc i can make with my limited budget.
