The AC Adapter was not connecting properly to the motherboard resulting in it being difficult to charge the battery without fidgeting with the cord until it was able to receive a signal.

I assumed that this was a motherboard issue so I ordered a replacement motherboard and have ran into other problems. After replacing the motherboard, the laptop would power on, but there was no display on the screen. I am not sure if that is from the integrated graphics card not working or if there is another problem that I am unaware of. I connected another monitor to see if it would show anything, but it gave the same result of a black screen.

I thought that the motherboard was faulty and I changed it back to the old motherboard and now the laptop powers on for about 5 seconds and shuts off. There is no display and I am not sure what the problem is. I read some articles and it may be the CMOS battery, but I am not sure.

Any suggestions for me to do now?

If the power connector was not connecting properly then wouldn't be that the connector port be at fault?

You can't use a generic power adapter, you have to use one that has the volts/amps as required by the laptop for the original motherboard, as stated on the base label.

You must be very good at assembly, it's not really that easy to ensure all the connecting cables are properly connected in a laptop assembly.

Basically, you need a new or replaced laptop casing so that you get a proper connecting connector for the power connection.
