I'm upgrading my gpu from a 6670 to 7870 and i needed a new psu. I have ordered the Corsair CX500 from amazon uk which should be just right for what i need. However i've come to realize that there may be ALOT of cables with the PSU that i may not use and even if i do use them they will take up a lot of space in my small case. I have a Advent DT2111 which is pretty great but am annoyed for not building my own pc. I haven't checked but can i still put the cables behind the in-case panel like with some larger towers or am i just going to need to put up with cables packed in the middle of the case. The psu is also at the top of the case, will that complicate things when tidying them up? do you recommend cable ties/tidies even though the corsair cables are kept in a neat sort of case (for each connector)

Oh dear... the top mounted case is going to be interesting. However, this isn't really a question we can answer for you, since it's a matter of how much space you have in your computer.

And cable ties aren't for keeping the cables circular, they're for keeping them folded up so that they take up less space.
