Who can make a the best part list for 500$ and under?
Goodluck!

No Os

Don't need Monitor, but if you do put one in budget is 630$

Must be overclockable.

Rest is up to you.

Comes with the AMD 125 watt heatsink, which is actually pretty good and its even better when lapped. For 30 bucks more you could get the fx 6300

Nice build, should perform well. I would consider changing the GPU maybe to the 650 TI Boost 2GB version for the extra vram. Especially if he will be playing at 1080p or higher.

CPU is actually faster than the FX4130 AFAIK
USB3 case and mb
1tb hdd (slower one)
7850 2GB (faster than the 650ti 2gb)[also a great OC card]{cheaper than any 650ti boost right now}
8gb of ram (1866mhz as it is only $2 more than 1333mhz)

You both left out the optical drive, which is another $20. Also the 4130 will be faster than the PII because the motherboard I chose will allow a much better OC than that cheap $50 one.

The phenom II can OC too
DVD drive can be added later, all OS's can install via USB now
I would take a stronger GPU over a stronger CPU
And don't forget 8gb of ram

The only advantage the asrock has is VRM cooling, the gigabyte $50 is a decent overclocker despite what it's price might say

You are right that board is a pretty good deal, and I'm surprised I didn't see it because I used that same thread to make my choice. Revised build:

I wold get this
You can upgrade the CPU come steamroller. The FX x1xx had worse IPC than the phenom II.
Single rail PSU over a dual rail one

I wouldn't trust refurbished parts, as they tend to have a high chance of failing.
