Hello!

I have an Asus P8Z77-V LK and just very recently had to re-install windows 7 on my SSD due to some major upgrades to my build (new power supply, new processor, new cooling system). I have two problems happening:

1) My SECOND hard drive is not recognized in either bios or disc management. The SATA connection is different than the one I used before the upgrades to my build, but it's also the same SATA cable I use for my SSD (the cable has multiple SATA connections and came with the new power supply). So, I don't understand why my computer is recognizing my SSD and not my HDD. It's like it passes RIGHT over it.

2) I'm getting the dreaded "The Realtek Network Controller Was Not Found" error. This shows up after I try to install the Realtek lan driver for my mother board. I've tried everything I've read to get this fixed and nothing is working!

Well that's it. If anyone can help me I would be greatly appreciated!

1) Is your SATA port for your second hard drive enabled on your BIOS? That's an important first step and, if it were disabled, would explain why it is "skipping right over". If the port's disabled it won't bother reading it. Just go into your BIOS at startup and enable the SATA port.

2) Did this start only after you installed the new drivers? Were there any previous drivers installed before the problem began? Did the device work properly before? There are some additional details we need before we can help you with this particular issue.

If it worked before with a previous set of drivers, you will want to roll back the drivers. You can do this simply by finding your device in Control Panel, right-click -> Properties -> Drivers -> Roll Back Drivers

If the device shows up with a yellow triangle next to it in Device Manager it means that there is a problem with the device. Right-click and uninstall the device and reboot your computer. It will search for the device during P.O.S.T. and should resolve the issue. If not then there may be conflicting drivers which may need to uninstalled before you can proceed to troubleshoot.
