Hi
I have a Dell Inspiron N5110 laptop. About 20 minutes ago I accidentally pulled part of the screen of iTs hinges while using the laptop. The screen just completely turned off so I freaked out and turned my laptop off. When I tried to turn it back on, the computer started up but the screen stayed black. Then my computer started beeping. 8 short beeps followed by two seconds of silence. This would just repeat over and over again. I don't know what to do. Can someone please help me. Thank you very much.

there is cabling through/around the hinges to feed the signal and power to the screen.

If you investigate how to dismantle your screen, to replace the screen for instance, then you'll understand where the cables go, BUT if you've damaged the cable then you are in a bad position. You may have just dislodged the cable, having recently repaired one the socket the cable is fixed into is potentially quite easy to dislodge.

If the hinge is broken or damaged you might want to send it to a local repair shop. No point soldering back the screen connectors if it easily comes apart again. Repairing it yourself might be complicated if multiple wires/connections are broken as you might not know what goes where.
