* Your CPU, are you rendering/video editing or is this just for gaming? If you are just gaming, dump the CPU and go for the 3570. You'll save nearly $100 for the same performance.

* The hard drive you picked is a pretty bad idea for throwing the operating system on. It's slow - it is a green drive. Those are meant for casual access/back ups not full time use as the main hard drive. If you are using it as a data drive and putting the OS and programs on a faster drive, then never mind. Otherwise, Western Digital's blue series is decent performance to price (otherwise you'll want to get the black series which is $99). This one Western Digital WD10EZEX Caviar Blue @ 7200 RPM is 1TB and is $69.

* You don't need a wired network adapter... the motherboard ethernet ports will do just fine.

* Antec PSUs are fairly good. If you want to save a little switch out your PSU for the Antec EA-650 Green.

All in all, if you follow my recommendations you'll save $158.

Edit: I'm going to touch your GPU pick. I'm going to touch the hell out of it and its going to like it. Dump the one you picked and go for this one: http://au.pcpartpicker.com/part/evga-video-card-02gp43660kr . That'll save you another $30. Only difference is clock speed and you can overclock it yourself with EVGA's own overclocking tool.

Yes I will be using programs like fraps and doing lots of editing, I also work from home so I will need the multitasking and processing power, sadly :( and I will change the PSU and HDD then :) I couldnt use SSD cause its too price hefty and I can always upgrade later. But its still over price.. :( This is where I am at :) http://au.pcpartpicker.com/p/Nr06

Knowing what you're planning on using the computer for would help.
Some questions:
- you need an add-on network card? The MB has one already
- Do you really need Win 7 Pro? That's usually only if you're joining a domain - for business. Win7 Home Premium would save you a little cash.
- If you're not ever intending to add a second video card, you could drop that Power supply down a little. I'd be reluctant to cut back there myself, but if you're desperate.
- You picked a 3770 - non K version - that means it doesn't really overclock. The CPU cooler you picked will be a little quieter than the stock intel cooler (that comes with the CPU), but I'd question whether it's necessary if you can't overclock the CPU anyway.

I know you say not to change CPU/GPU - but are you sure you need the i7 over the i5 3570K? If you're gaming there's almost no difference. Also, PCCase gear has factory OC'd 7950s for $10 less than that 660ti. You may well have good reasons for these picks, but I think you're going to struggle to cut $230 off that budget without looking at CPU GPU changes. Damn Australian prices, we get so ripped off!

Look at my edit above. As for your CPU, if you can't buy it then you can't buy it. The 3570 is no slouch anyway - if you really need every ounce of processing power then save up for the 3770 to where it will be in your budget. Otherwise the 3570 will still do well enough in multi-tasks. The 3770 really is only better by seconds anyhow. What kind of processing power do you need? As much as I hate to recommend it, an AMD "8 core" (ha!) might be a better pick for price to performance for multi-threading needs. Though personally, I'd stick with a 3570 or the 3770.

Also, as rhysiam said, if you aren't going to overclock the processor (in which case you would need a "k" processor) dump the Hyper 212. Also professional is also only useful if you need more than 16 GB of RAM in the future. Home will do fine otherwise. Finally, follow my suggestion by getting the "base" EVGA 660 Ti. That'll save another $30 off.

haha yeah most of those things I sorted out :) thanks a ton for the input, also under home premium it says 32bit not 64bit would that effect anything, really? and ill ditch the cooler, if any problems are caused its cheap for the cooler anyway so :) thanks a heap for the input guys!!

Damn, you're OS options are whacked. Stick with professional then, you do NOT want a 32-bit OS. Here in the states we can have our pick of home premium in 32 OR 64 bit. I would hope another retailer there would sell Home Premium 64-bit and still try to save you some money...

Edit: If you pick a 32-bit operating system, you'll be stuck using only around 3.5 GB RAM, period.

Yeah, Australians get ripped off :/ but this seems good? http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=5213932&CatId=306
I can just cut it out in part picker

32 bit versions of windows can only support up to 4gigs of RAM, You could save a little money on this build by also getting a cheaper power supply, you can buy a reputable 80 plus unit for 30 or 40 dollars cheaper that would run this system. Also you really dont need a network card. So removing the network card and switching the power supply would save you around 70 dollars.

So this is what we have :) http://au.pcpartpicker.com/p/Nr4q any other ways to cut down price? ($90 OS from tigerdirect.com added though)

This would be my suggestions to cut the price without sacrificing performance. A cheaper motherboard. You dont need a board for overclocking with a locked processor. Removed the network card, because the motherboard already has this. Switched to a Radeon card. since they have better price/performance ratio. Got just as good but a little cheaper power supply. Unfortunatly you are limited from your location.

I would follow Tenaciousk's advice with the motherboard. The 7870 trades blows with the 660 Ti and for a much lower price, so that is a very good option. Do those, and you can also go with the 3770. Certainly stick with a faster HDD though than the green.

This system will also run beautifully. The only main difference would be the hyper threaded cores you get with the i7. although the i5 is a great processor. Again in this build though, you have a z chipset for a motherboard. Generally people will only go with the Z versions because they are planning to overclock. But Both are very capable systems.

I would go with memory from pccasegear, it is only an extra $2 for the same kit.
Foxcomp is over in Western Aus, you're looking at $20-30 to get it shipped to the east coast, their online ordering system is currently offline so can't get a confirmed price on postage but i doubt it would be any less then $20.
