Hey guys i recently got a i7 3770k with a coolermaster v6 gt. My temps are great at 4.4 ghz ( average 76 Celsius on intel burn test), so i decided t go for 4.6ghz. After i got it stable at 1.220 volts, i ran intel burn test and my max temp was 81 degrees celcius, average was 78. However, when i went to play battlefield 3, i pressed join server, it said joining game but then it popped up with an error message saying " battlefield 3 has stopped working". I updated all of my gpu drivers and repaired the game in Origin, and it said that all the game files were there. However, when i downclocked it back to 4.4 ghz, it worked just fine. Any ideas on what may be causing the problem and how i can fix it?

i had water cooling but me temps were very hot, probably manufacture defect... with thermal take water 2.0 i couldn't run Intel burn test for more then 10 seconds at 4.4 GHz without it getting to like 90 Celsius

Just trying to get highest possible oc out of my system:wahoo:

And possibly damage it in the process for a measly 200mhz which is going to make no difference what so ever other than to go on forums or in BF3 and say my overClOCK is bigger than your overClOCK, so why bother risking it.

Individual cpu chips differ in their OC characteristics and capabilities. Yours may be better or worse than others, so it will never be an exact comparison, and individual settings may not apply from one to another. There also seems to be an upper limit that can not be exceeded by better cooling.

The extra hyperthreads are usually not that useful, you could try disabling hyperthreading and see if you can go higher.
I don't know if the bios lets you disable the integrated graphics, but that might be worth a try.

Be sensible. Greed kills...(your cpu)
