Far Cry 3 Lag issue

I recently purchased Far Cry 3 on my PC, and was running it flawlessly on Ultra settings. Then one day I opened it up and everything was running very slow, and I could only run it on medium settings. I have an nVidia gtx 680 video card if that helps. Does anyone know why that happened?

try clean the registry its the only source of lagging in computers(mac dont have registry thats why they dont ever lag)!
otherwise i will tell you to do something else!

I scanned with McAfee and found no viruses, and then defragmented my hdd. Didnt change anything D:. Also I found that the issue occurs with all my games, not just fc3
