Recently had issue with internet UpLink that was corrected after Comcast maintenance replaced some type of Up traffic "pod" (looked like just a little jumper/switch) in box outside by the road. Since then, my router has been resetting itself. Power & internet turn red, then rebooting back up. I have internet until it resets. Have internet after reset. Sometimes does this like every 20sec, sometimes I get couple of min. of use. All devices have been disconnected/turned off. If modem is disconnected from router, router operates fine. Transfer data, stream video, etc. It is only when modem is connected. Modem doesn't reboot itself. When pc connected directly to modem, no problems. If any suggestions please help. Also, if any suggestions on a good software that might help T/S or log what is going on with the router is greatly appreciated.

Modem: Arris TM722 Docsis3.0
Router: DLink Dir-865L (just installed newest firmware;no change)

If you get very lucky you might get the router to tell you, just depends how exactly it is crashing.

The router has syslog capability. You can set it to send messages to your PC. You need to load a syslog server or you could just use wireshark and capture if it happens quickly. going to have to get lucky

Thanks for the response. The logs from Dlink's software just shows a lot of "received, sending, discovered" logs. Found a few that say "no upstream servers configured" but it's not consistent enough to warrant it being cause of all the reboots.
Got wireshark running. But it appears to log A LOT of data. And router hasn't restarted for almost 30min now.

Found problem! Slaved spare router in and worked good. Cross referenced settings and SPI needed to be enabled in Firewall Settings. That was all I changed on malfunctioning router and now appears to operate normally.
