Hey guys, I just want to let you guys know of this problem I'm having running Far Cry 3 on my ADATA 120GB SATA3 SSD.

Before I bought my SSD I've been playing perfectly fine with my GTX560Ti and i5 but after I loaded windows and ran Far Cry 3 from the SSD, the game started freezing.

I mean, full blown hang for like a minute. I cant even get the task manager running and the HDD light stays solid on for the duration. The textures slightly mess up like the zoom on the snipers become opaque and the screen blurs totally when driving a vehicle. Game always hangs when going to the pause menu.

Tried everything to fix it. Its not power or a faulty drive. The only thing that works is by dragging FC 3 to another steam library partition (normal HDD) and running it from there... Works perfectly then...

Any input..?

Well when I ran AS SSD, everything was green and OK.

However, swiftly_morgan, your solution worked perfectly...! There was no freeze whatsoever.. Do you have any idea how to keep it fixed with my other HDD connected??

kind of hit or miss for me I don't have enough experience running both together.

but something else I noticed from above...... you said it won't run off the SSD but seeks out and finds the game on the HD. try opening windows explorer ( on the HD ). find the folder or the exe file for FarCry. right click on it. go to rename. click at the end and put a letter or digit at the end and hit enter. that will add character at the end therefore renaming the file. when you rerstart the game it should only see the game on the SSD.
what happens?

to set it back, go to rename and just delete the single character at the end you put in and hit enter. that will set it back to stock.
