I have an old asus m5100 and I simply added a single 1gb stick of ddr2 memory to the last open slot in the PC. After doing that I get an error 43(Windows disables my vid card due to it reporting errors). I move the new stick around and everything works fine until I have all 4 banks full. So..it's not the stick itself and not the memory port. Any ideas?
