Hi PSU Experts!

I bought a psu about few year ago, then completely forgot till today I discovered while cleaning. And its a 500 watt bequiet PSU.

I want to know is it still good or has it been gradualy decreased its inner components quality and reliability?

Will it still function like a new PSU?

Thanks

The be quiet! Efficient Power F1 Series were being marketed to the entry level budget segment of the market so to get the price down they used lower quality components to reach that price point.

If your PSU was stored at 15°C - 20°C then it should not have accelerated the deterioration of the electrolytic capacitors when it's not being used.

It is a EFFICIENT POWER F1 500W 80 PLUS GOLD PSU

Im worried will the caps coil etc inside still good after two years of no use 100% ok?

Can I rely on it ?

The be quiet! Efficient Power F1 Series were built with low quality components to begin with. It explains why they had a shorter than industry average warranty of only 2 years.

What kind of temperature extremes has the PSU been subjected to during its period of non-use?

Its not a quality psu?
Well it was left in our store room with old stuffs, broken chair unused old pc etc.
So I would say there was hardly any heat it was probably in 15c-20c.

Ok please tell me mate Antec HCG-620 620W is it a better Power Supply?
in terms of longer lasting and japanease components?

Also will it cost too much electricity is I use 620w psu overkill when I require only 250watt

Thanks so much

The Antec HCG-620 uses Seasonic as its OEM. I would trust its reliability over that of the be quiet! Efficient Power F1 500W made by FSP.

No I was worried that when my sysem in idle it is wasting electricity at low efficiency since I will require about 50watts only

Also I read somewhere the S12 is a old design of seasonic etc.

But when pulling 250 watts I should be atleast 85% efficient

"it can go back to its hiding spot."

 Well Said, Thanks dirtyferret
