So I've been having issues with sleep for the last month or so and get "A clock interrupt was not received on a secondary processor" Blue screens so I'd like to see if a bios update could fix this. Thing is, all the bios files for download on the Asus website are .CAP and the EZ Flash 2 on my motherboard will only read .ROM files. When I try renaming the file to .ROM and try opening it in EZ Flash 2 I get "Selected File is not a EFI Bios!". Can anyone please help me with this? Thanks in advance.

I know this thread is a little "old-ish" but I thought this may help any future cyber-seekers. Especially since the solution is maddening when you hear it.

Basically, you need to rename the BIOS file to the name of the motherboard. Usually this means just removing any extraneous characters from the file name. For example: rename the file M5A97-R20-ASUS-2501.CAP to just M5A97-R20.CAP. Then just flash like normal. :)
