Approximate Purchase Date: Early May

Budget Range:$450 through $500. I'd prefer to stay closer to $450, this is before rebates and including shipping.

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming, Watching HD Movies, Programming

Are you buying a monitor: No

Parts to Upgrade: I have a montior, keyboard, mouse. I also have a 1TB storage drive, but I need a small ssd to boot from and for some games. I also need a WiFi adapter that can perform well as I download files greater than 5GB on a daily basis.

Do you need to buy OS: No

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Newegg & Amazon

Location: Massachusetts (No Micro center near me sadly)

Parts Preferences: IMO Nvidia > AMD when it comes to graphics cards. (I'm thinking a GTX660)

Overclocking: Maybe

SLI or Crossfire: Maybe

Your Monitor Resolution: 1366x768 , but I plan on upgrading to 1080p in the future.

Additional Comments: I would like an ATX build for future expansion, I need that small ssd to boot from and some games. Also I need a WiFi-Adapter as well. Case size and noise does not matter to me.

And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: I'm overly due for an upgrade, by far lol.

I am thinking you should wait until late april to start planning, prices will change between now and may so our recomendations will change by then too

Also consider making your budget a big bigger, its going to be hard to fit a decent gaming rig into that budget

This is a decently balanced build with a nice CPU and GPU, decent PSU and case with a DVD drive

You will need at least an 650ti/7790/650ti boost/7850/660 for 1080p gaming

Even without an SSD and wifi adapter, it is over budget and a ATX mb will cost $10 more

Here is an i3 with an ATX mb, (not capable of CFX/SLI, that would require at least an $100 mb)

It will go from like 20 secs to about 2 secs (not including bios time)

I boot off an latest gen 7200rpm HDD and it's pretty fast IMO
