So recently, a buddy of mine helped me overclock the memory in my machine (after several weeks of failed attempts to do so myself) from 1600MHz to 2400MHz. At first I didn't notice any changes to the system, but after re-running the Windows Assessment test, my Windows began running at double the speed: the clock logged time twice as fast, desktop backgrounds changed at double speed, animations, internet browsers, even games would run much faster than they originally did. However, this is not the issue. I loved this. Recently, however, I restarted my system after an update, and the added speed went away. My question to you is how do I re-obtain this? Is there a way to edit Windows so that its base clock speed is faster? Thanks in advance for any light that can be shed on this.
