ASUS P8Z68-V LX Intel Z68 Motherboard

I would like to know if I can run an AMD Radeon HD 7950 GPU on this motherboard
or if I should just get a new motherboard would be upgrading from a GTX 560 Ti

System spec:
Mobo: named above
Memory: Corsair Vengeance CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9B 8GB (2x4GB)
CPU: i5-2500k
GPU: Galaxy GTX 560 Ti
PSU: OCZ 550W(may switch to 650W)

It will work fine. There's a new chipset now.. the Z77. Something like the ASrock Extreme4 (Z77).

That motherboard is just fine with that GPU. PCIe 3.0 is backwards compatible with PCIe 2.0 and the difference in speed is imperceptible with a single GPU anyway. Just get the new GPU for now and save your money for when the new Haswell CPU's come out. BTW the next gen graphics cards will likely be coming out around the end of this year so if you wait until then you could upgrade the whole build and see some pretty significant improvements in overall performance
