I'm in the midst of constructing a new build. I'm trying to decide on which graphics card. This build will primarily be for gaming at 1080p on a single 24" Asus monitor. For a single card gaming on mostly high settings, is the GTX 670 fine or I would be better off to spend the extra money on a 680?

Other parts:
Intel Core i7--3770k
16GB Corsair Vengeance
Cooler Master HAF XM
Samsung 840 Pro 256GB

Solution
Using EVGA Precision X, I have my fan speed set to 70% when the card reaches 67C, which keeps the FTW’s temp below 70C. Max temps of my CPU fluctuate between 55C and 65C (max) under very heavy gaming loads. So, from personal experience, I cannot confirm imomun’s “fact.” However, he is probably correct if the fan speeds are not correctly correlated to the card’s temps.

^Thanks.
I'm pretty excited as this will be my first build in over 8 years. I revamped that old XP machine this past fall so I'd have something decent to play older games. Now I need something to play Bioshock Infinite.

Yeah, the EVGA 670 FTW is a fine card.
