Doing a re-build with subject Mobo, intel i3 3220 ivy bridgeCPU with bespoke heatsink and fan, 2X4GB RAM (Corsair DDR3) - all new buy into existing ATX form case.
Initially built in case - new Mobo lined up perfectly - turned the power on this morning and I thought success ! All 6 'active phase switch' LED's came on and the HDD started to spin up. This lasted about 10 seconds before it reset and tried again. This is all the system does.
I also fitted a new 1GB graphics card for the initial turn on.
I have subsequently removed the Mobo from the case and tried it with just the CPU and Mobo power supply inputs connected - it's exactly the same.
FYI the PSU is EA4G-800 switching power supply rated at 800W and has worked perfectly for a number of years with its previous Mobo - also ATX form factor.
I have tried changing the CMOS battery with one that I know to be good, although for a new board to be supplied with a duff battery would be a bit of a poor do.
I'm kind of at a loss now, with nothing left to remove from the Mobo other than the power supply cables, which would kinda defeat the object.
Does anyone out there have any suggestions please.
Many thanks,
