This is an AMD Phenom II X6 1090T which is part of the Dell Studio XPS 7100 build. As the CPU fan is very noisy, I'm going to replace it with a new heatsink.
What heatsink would you recommend that fits into this heatsink bracket? It seems to be a standard AMD bracket with a rectangular hole pattern. My budget is anywhere betwenn $30-$50.
If such a heatsink doesn't exist (or isn't good enough), is there a heatsink whose bracket would be compatible with the existing backplate (I'm really too scared to pull out the motherboard :-/ ).
I assume the backplate serves no other purpose than to serve as a stand-off for the bracket screws. That means all backplates that fit into this hole pattern should be pretty much identical, right? So is there any necessity to change the backplate?

. and cpu cooler market use base bracket is Akasa Low Profile AMD AK-CC1101EP02 or Scythe SCSK-1100 ( very silent) but can't use for OC .. just a suggestion
