Hi,
Just got a new setup and have hit a rock. Then green led on the motherboard turns on when psu is on, and that is all I can get from it.

Have read through stickies and the mobo is currently on its box with just CPU and psu plugged in (yes, both connectors) and all I'm getting is this green led and no response from power on switch from my case power on (also plugged in correctly) have tried reseating CPU to no avail and tried my old psu (600w) which I know works again with no luck. Current psu is corsair hx850.

Have also tried with/without and all combinations of ram in each slot.

Am I missing something obvious???

Thanks for any help!

Its a long shot but short the pins for the power instead of using the case switch to turn it on. It could be the power button on the case thats faulty. It looks like you covered all other bases so if that doesn't work then it could be a faulty board

I've got my old gtx 470 but I was just trying to get it up and running without it, as I originally installed everything and then worked backwards. I also have my old mobo but its for amd 2 sockets. How would I go about shorting the pins for the power?
Cheers for the replies guys.

If you've already done what Zink suggested:

Check the Clear RTC jumper is in the correct position - or even present. If the jumper is int he wrong position or not on the header the board won't power on. If it's not that, then something deeper is amiss.

Thank you for posting this! I had the same no power on problem as the OP and it turned out to be the Clear RTC jumper. Now it starts right up no problem.
