This labtob has started acting funny so I did a clean install. When I boot into windows 7 ultimate 64 bit the screen does a timeout. You see the windows logo and then the screen timeout and you hear the windows boot sound. You give it 30 to 40 seconds and press the power button the screen comes back on. You can then enter your password and it stays on and good to go. Is there a way to get the screen to stay on during the whole boot time.

Hi,
One possible solution is to turn off your display sleep mode in control panel. Also if you are not using power options for longer battery life you can kill power managment service. It will disable option for display timeout.

Also fresh and good install of windows should take 10-15s from boot screen to logon screen if everything is ok.

Best regards :)

Hi, Mark Martin and everyone out there, i have the exact same issue, please help, it is very annoying to have to deal with this, and what's worse, when i'm downloading new updates, i have to do press the on button to see where the updates process is at, which only gives me problems because you should never put your laptop to sleep or turn off during an upgrade.

any info will be greatly appreciated, thanks.
