RAID 5 "Unallocated" Help

Hey everyone,
Today morning I log into the server and I dont see my data drive. When I log into Disk Management it says "Unallocated". When I try to initialize the disk it gives me an error "The operation did not complete". Any help is appreciated. Thanks

You should have a RAID utility on the server for your RAID 5 array. If you launch that what does it show for the status of the array?

I am new to this. So bear with me. To get into the Raid Utility, will I have to restart the server? or Can I get into it right from windows?

Ok I just checked the Raid Status. My Virtual Disk 0 aka Raid 1 (OS & General Files) says "optimal" and my Virtual Disk 1 aka Raid 5 says "Offline".

Now it says Virtual Disk 1 is degraded and when I go to operations says 1 of my disks is rebuilding.

You should be able to access your data while it rebuilds. It will just be slower until it completes. Can you see the drive now?

yea. any idea why this happened? should I be worried about another potential crash and hdd replacement? I do have replacement drives and also backups to restore.

Hard to be sure, could have been a glitch with Windows or the RAID controller. Check the Windows log and see if the RAID array software has any logs. They might help tell you the source of the problem.
