I've got a problem with a Zalman Z9 plus case, the power led connectors (PLED) aren't working so the the case's power button which usually lights up, is not lighting up :(

I recently replaced the motherboard, processor and ram.
However before this the connectors worked fine.

I did think at first that maybe the mobo was at fault but after getting a replacement mobo installed today it's still not lighting up.. (thx Amazon)

I have followed the manual exactly by the way.

My New Mobo is an Asus M5A99X Evo R2.0

other parts
Novatech PowerStation Gaming 600W Silent ATX2 Modular Power Supply
AMD Bulldozer fx-6100
Corsair 16gb 1600mhz
Ocz agility 3 120gb
Sapphire 11179-09-20G HD 6870 1GB GDDR5 Graphics Card
Samsung HDD

The power button is working by the way it's just the light on that button,
(usually a steady blue) I know it isn't exactly important to have a light on but i am a bit anal lol

Also i have stopped using the cases fan controller so all fans but one are now plugged into the mobo.
I was thinking if this might affect it in anyway? I don't think it would though.

Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

95% probability it is not your motherboard. Although I have not used Zalman cases in the past, their reputation for durability is not top drawer. Good, but not on par with Antec or Coolermaster.

Most likely it’s one of the leads to the LED. You can either contact Zalman and try to get a replacement front bezel (or in this case front I/O module) or you can attempt the repair yourself.

Try reseating the connection at the LED side first.

It’s not hard: You’ll need to replace the two wires that are coming off the LED and the connector to the motherboard. Simple soldering skills may be required.

LED's do not work if connected backwards(the switches do). By any chance did you connect the plug backwards. It is a common mistake that will make the led look burned.

Thanks for your reply,
I was thinking there was a loose connection or such like you said, looks like I'll be getting my soldering iron out lol.

I did a check and the case is now 14 months old so i guess that falls out of the 1 year warranty from Zalman.

Yeah im 100% sure i've got them the right way round on the board.

Well, nothing to stop you from warming up the soldering iron and swapping the led out. I actually had a silver stone one stop working before too. Its rare, but happens.
