Planar PX2710MW Monitor Not working with ASUS Windows 8

My HP Pavillion just died; I was using the Planar monitor described in the subject line with that machine and was running Windows 7. I just purchased a new CPU from Asus, the CM 1745-04 model; it has Windows 8. This monitor does not play well with that CPU. I have it connected VIA HDMI, the "native resolution" appears too small on the screen, and sometimes it won't even get a signal from the computer, so it won't turn on. Does anyone have any information on this? I bought this monitor just last year from Dell, so it seems a shame to have to buy a new one... Thanks!

Switch to the native resolution 1920*1080 and open the AMD Vision Engine Control Center (Right click on the desktop, it should be in the menu). Search for the over-/underscan slider in "my digital screens" and set it to zero%.

Thank you for your response. I have made sure that the native resolution was 1920x1080, then did as you said, but I do not have the "My Digital Screens" option in my AMD Vision Engine Control Center. The only options I have are Desktops and Displays, Power and Performance. Under Desktops and Displays, the only option I have there is Hydravision. Under Hydravision, there is HydraGrid, Desktop Manager, Multi Desktop and Maximize. I did not find the slider you mention in any of those options.

Do you have the search box? Try to search for "overscan". There might also be an "expert settings" option behind the preferences button. It's too long ago, i did that myself.

No, it's not like the screen shot. I'll see if I can find the search box; Windows 8 is new and confusing to me.
