Hello.

I am looking for a good CPU and Motherboard for Gaming.

I play World of Warcraft, I want to play with everything on ultra.

I just bought Asus GeForce GTX660 2GDDR5 videocard.

I need good motherboard & good cpu that will be good for my videocard, as I think this is a very good video card.

I have two SSD (60gb & 120gb) ready for this new system i want.

I currently have intel i5 2320 cpu, but I find it not enough performant to play world of Warcraft with all on ultra.

Solution

Motherboard comparison. Extreme4 has more SATA ports, and will do SLI and CF. Main reasons I bought it over a less expensive...

In flight form, when i am at shrine, (out side) if everything is ultra and I move fast, my fps drop at 15.

I have i5 2320 on default "Gateway DX4860 is a basic motherboard with H67 Express" It's the default cpu for that DX4860 system.

I added 8gb of ram, so now i have 16gb of ram on my gateway.

I beleive the gateway motherboard/cpu combo is shit for WoW gaming..

I cant be all ultra with the GTX660 i have..

I beleive with new mobo+cpu i'd be able to.

I will also buy new case, but that will not be on my 500-600$ budget for the mobo/cpu.

I use many addons also, so maybe those require better cpu.. I am hardcore raider with tons of addons ( Weakauras, dbm, elvui, recount, skada, etc etc )... And I require those addons to play.

the i7 3770k will show MONSTROUS improvement over the i5 2320. However, it wont show you a noticeable difference over the 3570k if you are only gaming.

Either option will keep you in good standing for 3-5 years.

You don't need anything more than a 3570k, a Z77 extreme4 and a coolermaster TX3 or hyper 212, depending on height restrictions of the new case. I also play WoW, but my gpu's hold me back from playing on ultra. I think I am running out of graphics memory. It seems that 2gb cards of similar speed benchmark better than what I get with my 5850's. Shadows on low and disabling SSAO will help you out a good deal too if you haven't already. You could get that combo, and if your power supply is up to the task, another GTX 660 for SLI if you wanted for around $615 shipped on newegg. Also, if there is a Microcenter nearby, I suggest going there for CPU and Motherboard. That would make the cost even less.

I shop only at tigerdirect.ca , I searched and i am unable to find the motherboard you suggested to me
http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2372989&sku=I69-3770K

that's the cpu i would get.

But for the motherboard, I am unable to find the one you suggested.
They are suggesting
GIGABYTE GA-Z77X-UD5H Intel 7 Series Motherboard - ATX, Socket H2 (LGA1155), Intel Z77 Express, 1600MHz DDR3, SATA III (6Gb/s), RAID, 8-Ch Audio, 2x Gigabit LAN, USB 3.0, PCIe 3.0, CrossFireX/SLI

or

ASUS P8Z77-V Intel 7 Series Motherboard - ATX, Socket H2 (LGA1155), Intel Z77 Express, 2400MHz DDR3 (O.C.), SATA III (6Gb/s), RAID, 8-CH Audio, Gigabit LAN, USB 3.0, PCIe 3.0, WiFi-N, SLI/CrossFireX

For a budget of 100-200$ for the motherboard, which one would you suggest?

Can be different one though, that they would have on tigerdirect.ca

Thank you very much for time you take to help me.

The 3570k is 100$ cheaper then the i7 3770k i beleive a mobo+ the i7 3770k would fit in my budget, but do you think i would get same performance if i bought the 3570k ?

Well the second one has on-board wifi-capability, so if thats important go with that. If not and you just need the LAN capability I would go with the first one you listed.

In terms of reliability both are good MOBO's.

And regarding the 3570/3770 debate...buy what you wanna buy.

Get 3770k isn't going to give you much of anything for the $100 extra it costs over the 3570k.

I know you said you only shop from tiger direct, but fyi, newegg has a .ca site now too. If I order something, it is almost always from Newegg. http://www.newegg.ca/

If dead set on tiger direct, then I would go with this board and save a few $$$.

http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2373004&sku=I69-3570K "I69-3570K ::Intel Core i5-3570K BX806237i53570K Processor - Quad Core, 6MB L3 Cache, 3.40GHz (3.80GHz Max Turbo), Socket H2 (LGA1155), 77W, Fan, Unlocked, Retail(0.9 lbs)"

and
http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2276153&sku=G452-2362 "

I would add this memory :
http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=7487099&CatId=4534
Corsair Vengeance CMZ16GX3M2A1600C10B 16GB Desktop Memory Module Kit - DDR3, 2 x 8GB, Dual Channel, 240 Pin, DIMM, 1.5V, PC3-12800, 1600MHz, XMP Ready

Total price including the ram is 570$ .

Do you have any suggestion of another ram that would be better or cheaper then the one i linked?

Thank you

With that mother, what memory ram would you suggest, which one i would get the most performance? There so many different kind of memory.. wow

8350rocks

Distinguished

G.skill Ripjaws minimum 1600 MHz cas 9...go 1866 MHz if you have the money. You'll want around 8 GB memory if you're future proofing, you would be fine with 4 GB...what is your current RAM setup?? It should be DDR3, and you should be fine if it is, unless you just want to add more....which is good too.

I really need 16gb.

I'm not sure I understand all those 1866MHz / 1600MHz / 2000MHz .. CAS 9, CAS10....

For that mobo you suggested me, what is the best 16gb ram stick's i can get, that would be under 150$

Thanks alot!
