Hello. So here's the deal. I found an Intel E5200 cpu and an Intel DP35 motherboard and some ddr2 ram sticks lying around. I want to use this machine for the sole purpose of playing League of Legends, as my laptop is overheating recently when I play.

I'm gonna throw in a Gigabyte (GV-N630-2GI) GeForce GT630 2GB DDR3 graphic card.

Running on a 20" monitor (1600x900 resolution), can this system sustain a stable fps rate of at least 30 frames?

Here are the specs again:
- Intel E5200 @ 2.5GHz (stock)
- Intel DP35DP
- 4gb DDR2
- Geforce GT 630 2gb ddr3 (GV-N630-2GI)

Looking forward for your insights.

The SE is a bit weaker than the normal 460 1GB, but its still more than enough for LOL. It's like a 7750. Go for it :).

Short answer is, yes. I have an old Core 2 Duo, 4 GB of RAM, running on the Intel GMA graphics; and I get a steady 25 fps on low settings. LoL defiantly relies on the CPU more then anything. Other then saying I doubt you'll get Very High settings. I think you should be able to do medium or high and get 30+ fps just fine.

Edit:

One thing I should add. I'm playing @ 1280 x 1024 screen resolution.

You welcome. If you haven't bought the card yet you might find a better one. GT640 (or HD6670 with GDDR5) are better choices if you can found them cheap.

I'm not looking to spend more than $100 to be honest. I have another pc for gaming.

As for brand preference, I do not generally have one. However, I've been purchasing AMD/ATI cards for the past 8 years, my last one being the 7750. I wouldn't mind going Nvidia this time. I have a gt 540m on my laptop.

Honestly, you don't really need much of a GPU to run LoL. As far as I know LoL doesn't favor any GPU chipset so Nvidia and AMD can both run it equally as well. I tend to prefer Nvidia, but it's hard to recommend anything other then an HD 7750 at the $90-$100 price point.

Keep in mind you can run LoL just fine on something much less powerful then a HD 7750. As I mentioned earlier I run it on a PC with an Intel GMA GPU which is on par with low end GPUs from 8 years ago.

Although that might be possible its still at 1280x1024. 1600x900 needs more power. Also he asked for no less than 30 fps.
With a GT640/HD6670(GDDR5) you should be able to run it with sum eye candy. HD7750/GTX650 might be an overkill but its a good solution under $100.
GT640 $79.99
HD6670(GDDR5) $84.99
HD7750 $99.99
GTX650 $99.99
